Duryea and White show their courage

Finals football breeds desperation and valour, with players putting their bodies on the line even more than they normally do week to week during the regular season.

Saturday’s preliminary final between Hawthorn and Port Adelaide produced many moments of inspiration and courage.

This tenacious contest for the ball between the Hawks’ Taylor Duryea and the Power’s Matt White epitomises the extent players will go to win the ball for their team in these high-stakes encounters.

White initially came out of the collision a little worse for wear, but quickly shook it off and returned to his position.
