The Tony Romo saga appears to be over – for now.

ESPN reports that Romo is indeed hanging up his cleats and retiring from football and wants to go into broadcasting.

The news comes after a month of reports that both Fox Sports and CBS were trying to lure the QB in to replace their color commentators. And it looks like CBS will be the landing spot.

Romo has long said he’d love to have a career in football after football, and this is the best bet.

But this may not be permanent: reports are that Romo would return to the Cowboys in the future if they ever needed him back.

Talk about an insurance plan.
