It’s hard to believe that nearly twenty years have passed since Kobe Bryant entered the NBA draft out of Lower Merion High School in Pennsylvania.

In this old school footage from the archives it’s easy to see how “The Black Mamba” went on to be a 15-time All-Star and enjoy one of the greatest NBA careers of all-time.

Fast forward to around 10:00 to watch Kobe lead his team to a come-from-behind playoff win as a junior.

(Skip to the 9:33 mark for the action)

Even at 16 it was plain to see that this guy was destined to go on to be a super star.

The 2014-15 season will present a new challenge for Kobe as he hopes to prevent the Lakers from missing out on the playoffs in back-to-back seasons for the first time in 30 years! The last time Los Angeles failed to make the cut two years in a row was in 1974-75 and 1975-76.
