If you want to install Windows 11 Pro later this year, you must have an active internet connection and a Microsoft account. Thus Microsoft follows the current installation policy of Windows 11 Home.
An internet connection is already required with the latest Windows 11 Pro installed in the Dev Channel and anyone who chooses to setup for personal use must already be using their Microsoft account. You can expect a Microsoft account Required in later test releasesMicrosoft said in the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22557 release notes.
Installing Windows 11 Home requires an active internet connection and a Microsoft account since October of last year. Initially, a simple on-screen “Alt + F4” that directed users to the required internet connection was enough to get around this requirement. Users can then log in with a local account. Microsoft put an end to this solution.
After that, the network connection requirement could still be passed by calling the task manager via “Shift + F10” and quitting “Network Connection Flow”, but this method for the Home version no longer works either. As a result, users who didn’t want a Microsoft account or had an internet connection had to turn to Windows 11 Pro. It is not known when Microsoft will make changes to the release version of Windows 11 Pro.
