(Belka) The United States provides assistance to farmers in Central America. This was announced by Vice President Kamala Harris today. The move is aimed at easing the influx of immigrants across the US border.
Harris told CNN that the U.S. Department of Agriculture was “devastated by the climate crisis and drought” in helping farmers with its “focus and resources.” “If parents and children can’t really eat and can’t provide themselves with the essentials, of course they will run away.” Harris will also soon hold digital meetings with Guatemala, Alejandro Giamati and Mexico, and Andres Manuel L லpez Obrador. He plans to visit both countries, CNN reported. U.S. President Joe Biden appointed Harris in March to address the issue of migration. The United States, on its southern border with Mexico, has seen the largest increase in the number of immigrants in 15 years. The Democrat leader wants to pursue a “more humane” immigration policy than his Republican predecessor, Donald Trump. (Belka)
