Thuisbezorgd enters into further cooperation with express delivery companies. You can already order groceries from Getir via the meal delivery company’s app. You can now also add Gorillas products to your digital shopping cart.
Groceries are still being delivered by Getir and Gorillas couriers.
Getir acquired competitor Gorillas at the end of 2022. Collaboration with Thuisbezorgd was previously arranged in Germany and the UK. This is also happening now in the Netherlands.
Thus, flash senders gain access to Thuisbezorgd’s customer base. “We will benefit from this and thus continue to grow in the Netherlands,” says Florian Brunsting, director of Getir and Gorillas.
Thuisbezorgd is pleased to expand its range. “It’s a great addition to our offering,” says meal delivery company director Gijs Wetterings.
In the past year, Thuisbezorgd has also expanded its product range with products from supermarkets Plus, Spar, Blokker and cosmetics store Lush.
Getir cut one in ten jobs
Both Thuisbezorgd and Getir are seeing a decline in income. After the coronavirus pandemic, consumers are getting fewer meals and groceries delivered to their homes, in part to save money.
In recent months, Getir has reduced the number of cities in which the courier delivers groceries. For example, Getir recently stopped delivering to Breda, Delft, Eindhoven, Groningen, Leiden and Tilburg due to a lack of orders. Internationally, Getir has left many countries and the company has cut one in ten jobs.
