The app is called 'ten' in lower case and the screenshots posted on the Play Store don't reveal much about what you can do with it. Nor is the description much helpful: “Ten Ten is about friendships – true friendships. Friends are the family we choose, share secrets, moments, tears, laughs… They are the only people we can truly be honest with.
However, Ten is one of the most popular apps in the Play Store. Last week, the app took first place.
What can you do with ten ten?
Ten Ten is a wireless app for you and your close friends. You can sign in using Google, TikTok, or email. You set your profile picture and name and then add your friends. You can add each other via your address book or by sharing the code.
Then you can talk to friends by pressing and holding the button. Your voice then automatically comes out from their smartphone's speakers. What's remarkable about the app is that these friends can hear you even when their smartphone screen is locked. Just like with a real walkie talkie. So expect a lot of conversations over loudspeakers on public transportation in the near future.
Fortunately, the app has an option to list all your friends or specific people silentSo you won't be bothered. This can be a temporary mute for 1, 4, or 8 hours, or forever until you turn off mute again.
What about your rights and privacy?
If you take a look at the terms and conditions of the app, some alarm bells will ring. Everything you upload to the Application grants its creators, among other things, the rights to copy, reproduce, disclose, sell, publish, broadcast, store, etc. Your name may also be used.
If you want to use the app at all, you must provide access to your contacts and you must enable notifications. Even to add friends via emoticons, you must first grant access to your contacts.

Users of the app complain through reviews in the Play Store that it can be unstable at best. Especially since the last update, there have been complaints that the app keeps connecting and users are unable to talk to each other.
