The PlayStation 5 is the fastest-selling home console in US history. Within months of the console’s completion, it was able to fly over the counter like hot cakes. The PS5 has sold more than 4.5 million units since its release in late 2020.
While the demand for the PlayStation 5 is still greater than the distribution, the console continues to sell well. The stock of the latest Sony console is eroded by bots, who eventually resell the console for a higher price. Getting a PS5 in the Netherlands is also very difficult. It has not come out anywhere, the console has been sold 4.5 million times in five months.
PS5 in the United States
According to analysts, the PS5 is the fastest-selling console in the country’s history. While the console in the US gets a lot of competition from the Nintendo Switch, the PS5 is on top of that. In early March, Switch appeared to be the top seller in the United States, but the PS5 was able to pick up that title by the end of that month. However, the Switch was the best-selling console in the first quarter in terms of unique units, and the PS5 made the most money on any console during that period.
According to Sony, it is on track to ship about 18 million consoles by the end of the next fiscal year (March 22, 2022). It means that the Japanese company is working hard to get more consoles.
