Taliban bans women from participating in Afghan TV series | Abroad
Women are no longer allowed to appear in Afghan dramas and soap operas. The Taliban announced this in a list of religious guidelines to the media published on Sunday.
The guidelines come from the Ministry of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice. Now female readers must wear a headscarf. Films that are not in line with “Afghan values” will no longer be tolerated. Men should wear appropriate clothing. He did not say exactly what that means.
The rules are the latest in a long list of measures that limit women’s freedoms. Since the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan in August, they have also prevented women from studying and living Sports.
