Spotify streams tag Joost Klein as winner of Eurovision Song Contest | RTL Street

Europepa by Joost Klein (26) is “by far” the most popular entry on Spotify. The music streaming service announced on Monday that Joost Klein’s song is the most streamed song out of all participating countries in the world.

The song ranked high on the list of most streamed entries in almost all European countries. The song has now been streamed nearly 44.5 million times on Spotify. Last month, the Dutch entrant was listened to almost 20 percent more than second-placed Italy. The Swedish duo Markus and Martinus ranks third in terms of the number of streams.

Based on streaming data, Spotify believes Klein could perform well in broadcast television. By the way, bookmakers think differently now. Joost currently sits in fifth place there with a 6 percent chance of winning. According to the betting houses, Pepe Lasagna now has the best chances of winning with his song “Rem Tim Tag Diem” with a probability of winning at 28 percent.

Last year, Spotify got it right. Then the service predicted the victory of Swedish Lauren. The year before, Spotify was wrong. The streaming service then thought Italy would win, but Ukraine won. The previous year, Spotify correctly predicted that Italy would win with Italian rock band Måneskin.
