South Korean President Moon Jae-in responded to a muscle-twisting speech in which he said “actions that create difficulties for conversation are undesirable.” The President said that “people are very concerned” about the Pyongyang launches and called for further talks between the two countries and Washington.
The Biden administration has been trying to liaise with the North Korean leadership since February, but in recent weeks it has been revealed that Pyongyang has been systematically blocking the new US administration’s efforts to begin diplomatic talks.
Earlier this month, Kim Yo-jong issued a clear warning to Americans: “The new US government is doing all it can to spread the smell of gunfire across our country. We use this opportunity to warn them: If they want to sleep peacefully for the next four years, they must avoid making the first active mistake. ‘
