RIO DE JANEIRO – Saab and Embraer announced Tuesday (April 11) in Rio de Janeiro that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to deepen cooperation between the companies in several areas related to business development and technological capabilities.
The two companies will work together to position the C-390 Millennium as the preferred solution to meet the Swedish Air Force’s tactical airlift requirements. Both will evaluate the integration of Saab equipment and systems into the C-390 Millennium for multiple missions.
The companies will also pursue new business opportunities, including Gripen’s future customers in Brazil and Latin America, considering the use of the Gripen Design and Development Network (GDDN), the Gripen Flight Test Center (GFTC) and the final assembly line. At Embraer in Cavio Peixoto. By doing so, Embraer and Saab will jointly increase Embraer’s contribution to future Gripen contracts.
In addition, the companies will collaborate on technical and engineering future fighter studies, coordinating the transfer of technology to the Brazilian defense sector within the current Gripen program for the Brazilian Air Force (FAB). This work can support future development of the Gripen E through 2060 and other future fighters as needs arise.
