Rachel Hases’ request that the judge hear from her daughter Roxanne and her former business partners Marek van Beek and Rob Israel was granted. The court in Amsterdam decided this on Tuesday.
Therefore, the Court of Appeal reaches a different conclusion than the District Court. In June 2022, the latter largely rejected Hazes’ request to let the trio know about payments they made in her name.
When Hayes had a nervous breakdown years ago, she gave her daughter and business partners Van Beek and Israel power of attorney to act on her behalf. This continued from 2016 to early 2018.
It was not possible to properly inform Hayes during that period of the choices made by supervisors. It is also alleged that the power of attorney was abused. Thousands of euros could have been lost this way. By listening to the trio under oath, it should become clear what happened to the missing money.
Roxanne previously announced that she did not want to be present at today’s ruling. She believes the legal system should not be burdened further. “I refuse to feed this and pay more attention to this,” she said at the time.
It is not yet known when the case will be heard again.
