As a Tesla driver you are constantly monitored. An unimaginable amount of data can be stored and used against you at a later date. For example, if you brake too hard, take a corner too fast, or drive at night, your car insurance costs in the US go up.

In Arizona, California, Illinois, Ohio and Texas, a Tesla driver can take out car insurance from the company itself. Musk and Co updated their surveillance software security score last week. The 2.0 version monitors your driving behavior at five points: hard braking, aggressive cornering, dangerous following, forced interventions by Autopilot and driving at night (between 10pm and 4am).

The algorithm returns a number between 0 and 100 rolls, with most being above 80. One customer drove back from the airport overnight and now pays $30 a month in insurance costs, he shows on Twitter.

An interesting detail is that data collector and multi-billionaire Elon Musk is the CEO of both Twitter and Tesla. Other insurers lick their fingers at the thought of processing similar data (packages).
