The new chatbot from Elon Musk’s xAI company will only be available to X users with a paid subscription. With the new application based on artificial intelligence (AI), Musk wants to compete with ChatGPT, among other applications. Musk claims the prototype is better than OpenAI’s popular chatbot.
The xAI app, called Grok, is currently being tested among users in the United States. After that, all users with the more expensive X subscription should be able to use the chatbot.
According to the announcement, the chatbot was developed in just two months. Grok uses data from X and is therefore better informed than other chatbots, according to the company. The company also reports that Grok will provide answers “with a dash of humor and rebellious tendencies.”

At the end of last month, X launched two new paid subscriptions. The most expensive costs €16 per month and guarantees customers a higher rating if they reply to other people’s messages. Paying users will also not see any ads and their accounts will receive a blue check mark. Only users with this subscription will be able to use Grok soon. X also has two cheaper plans.
