The Communications Department advises Ministers, Senior Officials and Policy Officers of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science on policy development (communication). We are there for the press and the public, for politics and regulation. As a spokesperson, you know how to translate signals from politics, society, and regulation into innovative media strategies and persuasive advice to a minister. Even with divergent interests and when time pressure is high.

As the Secretary’s spokesperson, you are a valuable sparring partner to your colleagues in politics. As a team player, you work closely with other spokespersons, communication consultants, environmental analysts, online editors, speechwriters, public appearance consultants, and MTs of the Directorate of Communications. You will serve on the panel of spokespersons responsible for policy topics: Higher Education, MBO, Science, Culture and Liberation. You work directly with the Minister and the people around him. This includes policy advisors, general managers, directors of relevant departments, political assistant, official secretary, and employee who maintains liaison with the House of Representatives. Furthermore, you are a conductor and work well together within and outside your team while understanding what the organization or network needs. You speak and write easily, phrased accurately and in the right accent. Moreover, you are sitting relaxed at the table with ministers and senior officials. When necessary, offer inconsistency: you are confronted – on the basis of analysis and experience – with constructive critical advice. In dialogue with journalists, teachers, students and policy colleagues, you are open, sympathetic, thoughtful and sharp.

You harness the power of (social) media and contribute to the creation of content for various communication channels, paying attention to the growing role of images and video in communication. You are an inspiration to your colleagues and would like to share the experiences you gained elsewhere. In addition, your colleague can replace the spokespersons in their absence. It goes without saying that you are willing to work hard and irregular.

You have an academic level.

Other terms of employment
