A 25-year-old New York City man was arrested Saturday, July 8, after an unknown assailant on a motorcycle shot dead an 87-year-old man and wounded three others in a series of random attacks in the boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens.

According to multiple reports, the incident occurred around 11:10 a.m. Saturday, when the 25-year-old suspect from New York City on a motorcycle shot a 21-year-old man in the shoulder in Brooklyn. The unidentified victim was taken to hospital and was expected to survive.

17 minutes after hitting the 25-year-old from Brooklyn, the gunman shot and killed the 87-year-old in Queens. The NYPD stated that the shooter was arrested two hours after the initial shooting. The suspect was reportedly identified after an image of the attacker was extracted from a video and sent to officers’ phones across the city.
