Although weather conditions are not too bad this afternoon, there is a high chance of heavy rain this evening as a result of Storm Babbitt in England. The weather will improve for a while tomorrow, but rain is expected again on Friday.
The day started with a beautiful pink twilight through the veil of clouds hanging over the province. This morning these clouds will remain and the sun will shine from time to time. “The clouds will gradually thicken this afternoon,” New Hampshire meteorologist Jan Visser says over the radio. It will then be between 13 to 15 degrees.
Tonight the clouds will increase further and rain will also begin to fall in the southwest. Visser expects “about 10 millimeters to fall locally until nightfall.” This is because Babbitt StormThis is what they called this depression in England, because it rains a lot there. “It is now over the Bay of Biscay and is expected to fly over England next night.”
In the Netherlands it wouldn’t be so bad that there is talk of a storm. On the coast, IJsselmeer and Markermeer it can be very windy with a wind force of 6.
More rain
Tomorrow morning the rain will clear and the sun may shine for a while. “In the afternoon it will be mainly cloudy and another front will pass with rain,” Visser says. “There are also periods of rain in the evening.” So the friends can’t go back to the closet yet. The wind is not too bad during the day, but on the coast the wind strength can rise until 7 pm, and then reach 17 degrees.
Jan Visser expects heavy rain to fall again on Friday. Locally, 20 to 30 mm may fall as a result of the new depression. It will be a little cooler again with temperatures between 10 and 12 degrees.
