Government Biden submits legislation to legalize illegal immigrants

Biden has always opposed the harsh immigration policies of his predecessor Donald Trump and insisted on the first day of his presidency that the president would take immediate action. The legalization of illegal immigrants, half of whom are Mexicans, has long been a priority for Democrats and liberal politicians who believe that illegal immigrants contribute to the economy while reducing the number of illegal immigrants.

Trump has been at the forefront of deporting and arresting illegal immigrants. He will build a wall on the Mexican border. In practice, however, deportations of illegal immigrants are far less than the number Trump threatened. Under his democratic predecessor, Barack Obama, almost three times as many illegal immigrants were deported during his first administration as under the Trump administration.

If we could subtract how many illegal immigrants there are from the number of deported people, there would actually be less. In 2010, the United States will deport 230,000 homeless people, and by 2020 more than 50,000 will be deported.

Public apology to ‘dreamers’

Biden now wants to stop deportation and arrange for a general amnesty for the so-called ‘dreamers’. That’s the hundreds of thousands of people who came illegally as children and began their adult lives in the United States. They enjoyed legal protection until 2017 when the Trump administration abolished it.

It is not known how many people are illegal in the United States. Most estimates are between ten and twelve million people. About two million of them are from Central America (mainly El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras) and nearly one and a half million from Asia. According to researchers, the majority of illegal immigrants have been in the United States for a long time, with an estimated two-thirds more than ten years.
