Racing director Michael Masi says the FIA will hold talks with drivers following the incident between Fernando Alonso and Kimi Rக்கோikknen at the US Grand Prix. “With these marginal results we should definitely sit down with all the drivers and then we can explain that there are two sides to this kind of situation.”
Alonso was frustrated by the on-board radio after the Alpha Romeo driver Raikonen overtook him off the track, according to Spaniard. After several rounds, after trailing Italy off the road, Alonso had to hand over his position to Rோconன’s ally, Antonio Giovinci. After the race, Alonso once again expressed his frustration at the decision around Ryconan. In conversation with Motorsport.comMasi says he understands these disappointments.
“I fully understand his frustration. The outcome of the incident with Rக்கikkனnen on Turn 1 is certainly partial. ‘That’s absolutely right, so this decision is partial. Because it came from both sides, we decided to leave it at that.’
The same situation with Geovinaci is Alonso
After a moment with R ரikkn, Alonso overtook Giovinci with his alpine out of the way, after which Alonso had to regain his position. A similar situation arose in reverse. “It was clear here that Alonso was out of the way,” says Masi. “The same goes for the previous moment when Geovinaci was out of the track. Then we advised both drivers to return to their positions.
