Latest update:
Bruno Aradi (17) is moving from Uruguay to the Netherlands, according to reports from his home country. The Montevideo-born winger with Italian roots will wear the Feyenoord shirt for years to come. Rotterdam acquire Arad on a free transfer from Club Nacional.
If all goes according to plan, Aradi will arrive in Rotterdam next Tuesday. There, the South American talent undergoes a medical examination, after which the final rites are completed and the Aradi can be offered.
At 1.70 meters tall, Aradi prefers to play from the left side, but can also play as a right-wing or shadow striker. He is the next youngster to be brought to Feyenoord from abroad this summer, after Frenchman Alex Djokovic (17) and Costa Rican Jayland Mitchell (19). The latter is considered a direct reinforcement to the first team.
Feyenoord does not have to pay a transfer fee to Oradi, but Club National retains part of the transfer rights. The right-footer has been playing in Uruguay’s top club’s youth academy since 2016.
Since March this year, Aradi has been training regularly with Club Nacional’s first team. At Feyenoord he will play in the under-21 team By Stadionclub. Aradi is also eligible to play in the youth league.
Having recently completed a successful internship at the Feyenoord academy, Arady will not travel to Rotterdam for the first time next week. According to Uruguayan media, his parents will also move to Europe, hoping to find work and support their young son.
If Arady is eventually snapped up at Feyenoord, he will become only the second Uruguayan to wear the club’s shirt. Between 1996 and 1999, defender Fernando Bigun was under contract at De Guip. The nine-time Uruguay international eventually made 44 official appearances, in which he scored three times.
