Australian journalist Julian Assange is likely to be freed. Assange was involved in a world-famous case over the website WikiLeaks. Then he shared secret documents about the US military.
That was a long time ago, but America still wanted to arrest and convict him. Had he been successful, he could have served 175 years in prison. Assange has tried to block it for years.
Assange has now signed a deal with the US. So now he is free. In return he has to tell the court that he is guilty. There is no need for him to go to jail because he has already been jailed in recent years.
Julian Assange is free. As he returns to Australia, we thank everyone who supported us and fought for his freedom.
