England international footballers Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund are forced to celebrate the holidays in Germany. Dortmund’s leadership does not allow Sancho (20) and Bellingham (17) to return to their families in England.
Germany, like many other countries, decided on Sunday to suspend air traffic to and from the United Kingdom. These measures were taken due to the spread of a new and more contagious type of coronavirus in England.
“So we can’t let Jadon and Judd go to England for Christmas,” said manager Michael Zorc. Dortmund will wrap up the year on Tuesday with a cup match against Eintracht Braunschweig. On January 3, Dortmund will resume the German Bundesliga with a home match. against Wolfsburg.
Erling Braut Haaland
Coach Eden Terzic, the successor to recently dismissed Lucien Favre, is hoping to make Erling-Braut Haaland available early next month. The Norwegian Dortmund striker is recovering from a muscle injury. “I saw Erling for the first time on Sunday,” Terzic said of the striker, who was being rehabilitated in Qatar. “He’s exactly on time. We assume he’ll be back in January.”
