The Challenge family is adding another North American triathlon to the 2024 calendar, and like the first ever Challenge Barcelona in 2023, they’re visiting the old Olympic site. After previous notice of challenge Challenge Cape Quebec, the Challenge family announced a second match in Canada on Wednesday: Challenge Esprit Montreal. The competition will be held over the weekend of November 6 to 8, 2024, and will include sprint distance, Olympic distance and middle distance.
The competition, which will celebrate its fortieth edition next year, attracts more than three thousand athletes each year and takes place at the site of the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games. In 2024, the race will be organized under the Challenge family banner for the first time. “It’s a unique opportunity to further grow our triathlon, which we’ve already experienced many great sporting moments in recent years,” said race director Jerome McEnry. “This course is great for new athletes and experienced triathletes looking to improve their personal best.”
While swimming takes place at an Olympic venue, cycling offers a unique experience: the cycling circuit takes place at Gilles-Villeneuve, where the Canadian Formula 1 race is held annually. Running training takes you across the Olympic Stadium. Challenge has already announced a brand new one Challenge New Jersey and Challenge Cap Quebec and they are also involved in Clash Miami.
