Alpecin-Fenix announced via social media how things are currently going with Sasha Modolo, Roy Janes, Peter Faccu and Alexander Richardson. These riders are currently suffering from injuries and cannot be used.
We start with Modolo, who has only four racing days left this season. The 33-year-old Italian runner only led the Turkey Tour this year and also had to surrender in the fourth stage to Kemer. For a long time, Modolo had suffered constant knee complaints, but now there was a light at the end of the tunnel.
“Good news for Sasha. After suffering for some time from a persistent knee injury and undergoing multiple treatments, he was able to train pain-free on a bike and at low intensity for a few weeks. The decision was taken this week to allow him to train in full force. “
“His return to competition depends on the coming weeks, but the indications are good. The Italian national championships may be an option for him if things develop well in the coming weeks,” Alpecin-Fenix wrote on Facebook.
Faccock, Jans, and Richardson
His Czech teammate Vakoč will already be fixing a shirt number earlier, after he broke his finger joint in a Brabant Arrow crash. “Peter recovered well after his left hand injury during a Brabant arrow. After a week of recovery, he began training again without restrictions.”
Jan and Richardson are out of circulation a little longer. “Roy had a knee injury some time ago, after which the medical staff decided to operate on him and opt for a full recovery. ITB friction syndrome prevented him from exercising for several weeks.”
“After the surgery he had a few days earlier at AZ Herentals, he would be able to fully recover after at least four weeks of rehab. During that time he could not train at high intensity. There are no matches currently in his schedule. Depending on his recovery, we might see him in Work from the second half of July. “
On Richardson: “Alexander suffers from back problems and is receiving treatment in the UK. There are no races currently in his schedule because the focus is on his recovery. “
