The editors of Happy Weekly launched a Duck-looking-neighbor campaign to celebrate Donald Duck’s 90th anniversary as a cartoon character this year. “This is the first time we’ve asked readers to design a new cartoon character,” says Donald Duck editor-in-chief Ferdi Felderhoff. “Our goal is to make Duckstad more diverse. Not just in terms of color, but also in terms of different personalities and different types. The inhabitants of Duckstad have often been strong males, but this might be a bit more modern.
