Britney Spears first spoke at length about the time she was under the tutelage of her father. In a 22-minute audio clip — which has since been removed — she talks about the “abuse” she experienced as a result and shares why she turned down so much money for an interview with Oprah Winfrey.
According to Britney, she received “numerous offers” to tell her story for a fee, but she did not accept them. “I don’t think it’s appropriate, getting paid to tell your story,” the singer says. “I think it’s a bit silly. I’ve had offers from Oprah and many others, for so much money, it’s crazy. But I don’t want any of that. For me, this is more than just a simple interview.”
The 40-year-old American Under guardianship for many years From her father and only “released” him last year, so she tells herself about all her problems. Although she has deleted the video from her private channel, it can still be viewed on other channels.
The singer again criticized her family in the audio recording, explaining that she felt they had been abandoned during the guardianship. They literally killed me. “They just threw me away,” Spears said. “I performed in front of thousands of people in Vegas at night, the thrill of being an artist, the laughter, the respect… I was a machine. I was silly A machine, not even a human being. It was crazy.”

Spears also confirmed her earlier claim that she was forcibly committed to a mental institution in early 2019 for objecting to a dance move during a rehearsal. In the audio recording, she described the dire conditions at the facility, in which she was said to have had to undress in front of others and undergo severe treatment. “They put me in an ignorant state of mind to make me feel that I need them,” she said, adding that she was reportedly told, “If you don’t do what we say, we will explain to you from the chief.”
Despite everything that has happened between her and her father Jamie, she is angry with her mother, Lynne Spears. When contacted by reporters, she is reported to be “innocuously hiding” and not defending her daughter. “I feel like she could have hired a lawyer for me in two seconds,” the singer said. “My friend eventually helped me get one, but every time I called a company, my phone was wiretapped and my phone pulled.”
Matthew Rosengart, the former attorney general who helped free Britney from her father’s custody in November 2021, is still investigating whether Jamie and his supervisors spied on the star.
