Syngenta’s crop protection product sales increased 20 percent in the first half of 2021 to $ 6.8 billion, or about 5.7 billion euros. The Swiss company announced this on Thursday.
Sales in Europe, Africa and the Middle East rose 12 percent, North America 16 percent and South America 36 percent. In Asia, excluding China, growth was 23 percent. Resource sales in China increased by 35 percent in the first six months of this year.
Total sales in China, including crop protection products, seeds and digital products, were $ 4.2 billion in the first half of this year, up 47 percent. The group says it is increasingly gaining ground in China, including supporting cultivation with advanced technology. Seed sales in China also multiplied.
Asian sales
Sales value of seeds rose 19 percent to $ 2 billion. Europe, Africa and the Middle East grew at 14 percent, North America at 1 percent and South America at 10 percent. Asian sales, excluding China, grew by 15 percent.
Growth rate for vegetable seeds is 15 percent compared to the first half of 2020; Flower seeds 27 percent. From January to June, Cincinnati’s total sales were $ 14.4 billion, or 24 percent more than by 2020. Sales of biological and commodities also increased by 27 percent, the company said.
