Mark Webber has been left fuming at the late race antics of fellow Red Bull team driver and three time world champions Sebastian Vettel.
In the latter stages of the Malaysian Grand Prix, with Webber leading and Vettel placed second, Red Bull teams orders were for both drivers to cool there engines and preserver their tyres to maintain their current positions through till the end of the race. The GP world watched on in shock as Vettel chose to ignore team orders and risk crashing while passing Webber through a series of turns.
Vettel ended up winning the race by 4.2 seconds, which did not sit well with second placed Webber.
While Vettel was quick to apologise after the race, some may feel that is was insincere considering the two have clashed in the passed. Vettel Says “I cannot say much more than I did a mistake, I’m not proud of it. If I had the chance to do it again I would do if differently.”
Webber who was visibly agitated, responded “In the end Seb made his own decisions today, he will have protection as usual and that the way it goes.”
It has been reported that Mark Webber will be flying back to Queensland to relax before the next GP in China in three weeks time.
