It looks as if the table topping Western Sydney Wonderers have lost Japanese superstar Shinji Ono for the remainder of the season.
He hobbled off in the 55th minuted of the Sydney derby at the weekend with a groin injury.
Ono had just recovered from a hamstring injury, and this looks to be the killer blow for his season. Initial prognosis is he will miss at least a month of football, which is terrible news for the Wonderers finals campaign.
On the 22nd of March he resigned with Western Sydney for next season, which is massive coup for the club. While starting the season slowly in comparison to the other marquee signings of the A-League, he has since found his feet and score 7 goals.
He is also considered to be very popular amongst the fans, which will surely help the A-League in the football code battle of Sydney’s west.
