Big stacks-on in Giants-Bulldogs clash

It may have been a dead-rubber between two of the AFL’s genuine also-rans, but that didn’t make Sunday’s Bulldogs-Giants clash any less vigorous or fiery.

The all-in melee at three-quarter time of the Etihad Stadium was one of the best we’ve seen this year – a real knock-’em-down, drag-’em-out affair – in a 2014 season that has generally be light on rough play.

The Bulldogs held a two-point lead at the last change, but it was the Giants who were able to put the disturbance behind them and surge to victory in the fourth quarter, prevailing 18.7 (115) to 15.19 (109) in an epic lower-ladder encounter to finish the season on a high.
