Detroit’s Andre Drummond took out the first Eastern Conference player of the week gong for the 2015-16 season after dominating Indiana on Tuesday night.
The Pistons suffered their first loss of the season, 94-82, but Drummond continued his outstanding start to the year with 25 points and a career-best 29 rebounds.
The 22-year-old is rewriting the record books, becoming the only player since the NBA-ABA merger to record 75-plus points and 75-plus rebounds across the first four games of the season.
Drummond, in his fourth season with the Pistons, also became the first player since the great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 40 years ago to put up 20 points and 20 rebounds in multiple games inside the first four outings of the season.
The former Conneticut Huskie picked up 11 offensive boards on Tuesday – just one less than the entire Pacers line-up.
