Uncute animals don’t get enough attention

A new list of endangered species has been released. This year, too, there is a lot of attention on elephants, pandas and tigers. But there are many endangered animals that get much less attention, such as some insects, reptiles and amphibians.

However, scientists say these animals are also important. It looks like this: Nature is a bit like a monolith. If there are few plant or animal species, you won’t notice it as much. But the tower became less stable. If too many species disappear, the entire tower may collapse.

Scientists are concerned about this.

Things are not going well for salamanders, toads and frogs in particular. While they are very important to nature.

I cannot imagine a world without amphibians. Then there will be many harmful insects and many animals that can no longer eat. This is not what we should want.
