The British economy grows slightly and comes out of the bottom Economy
The British economy grew by 0.3 percent in January compared to the previous month. The significant contraction was still evident at the end of last year.
The growth is seen as a boost, as expectations were less positive. In December, the economy contracted by 0.5%.
The renaissance is the result of the end of strikes. As a result, mail delivery began again, children went back to school and parents could return to work. According to the British Statistics Agency, the resumption of football competitions after the World Cup also contributed to economic growth.
The statistics agency wrote that the economy is rebounding after a significant decline in December. But director Darren Morgan stresses that the science can’t be taken out yet, because the British economy has barely grown in the past twelve months.
Finance Minister Jeremy Hunt also stressed in his response that the British economy “has shown its resilience, but there is still a long way to go.”
