Last Sunday, the Greek track capped off a fantastic week in Roosmalen, as it battled for its second ATP title of its career. After the overall victory in Pune at the beginning of this year, the Greek track behind his compatriot Tim van Ritthoven in Roosmalen. At 6-5 in the games, the Greek track was allowed to serve in the game. Karballes Baena cleared two match points, but eventually had to bow out to champion Rosmalen.

The Greek track, No. 29 in the world, will compete in heat two against pole vaulter Hubert Hurkacz or American qualifier Christopher Eubanks.

Botic van de Zandschulp fell immediately in the first round of the ATP tournament in Queens, England. The Dutchman lost in two sets to American favorite Frances Tiafoe, 6-2, 6-4. Van de Zandschol was a semi-finalist in London last year.

Van de Zandschulp started as an underdog in the meeting with the world number 10 and was ultimately unable to surprise. Van de Zandschulp passed two more points in the first set, but the double break was fatal for him. Van de Zandschulp showed better form in the second set, but could not prevent his American opponents from getting three match points. Tiafoe immediately made his first money and made it to the second round in London.

And so the tournament in London is already over for Van de Zandscholpe, who reached the semifinals in Queen’s last year. Matteo Berrettini blocked his way to the final. Despite his defeat, Van de Zandschulp would be glad to be back on track. Last week, he had to miss the Lipima Open in his country due to a foot injury.

Carlos Alcaraz reached the second round in Queen’s. The first-place Spaniard narrowly beat France’s Arthur Rindercknik, No. 83 in the world: 4-6 7-5 7-6 (3). It was Alcaraz’s first game of the grass season. A week and a half ago, he lost in the semi-finals of Roland Garros to Novak Djokovic. Alcaraz had a cramp in that match and Djokovic couldn’t fight back after that.

In the second round at Queen’s Stadium, Alcaraz will play Czech Jiri Lejica.
