Rashford left for three months after shoulder surgery

8.36 am: Manchester United can’t have Marcus Rashford at the start of the new season. The BBC reported that the 23-year-old striker undergoes surgery on his shoulder and is then sidelined for three months.

Rashford did indeed suffer a shoulder injury in the final stage of last season, but has postponed surgery until after the European Championship. England reached the final of that tournament, losing to Italy on penalties. Rashford was one of the English players who missed a penalty.

Qatar starts the Gold Cup with a draw with Panama

7.44 am: Qatar failed to win the first match in the Gold Cup. The three-time Asian champion lost a lead in Houston to Panama, 3-3. All goals came after the end of the first half. Rolando Blackburn scored two goals for Panama.

Qatar will compete in the Gold Cup, the championship of teams from North America, Central America and the Caribbean, in preparation for the World Championships next year. Qatar organizes this tournament.
