‘Revenge!’ MMA phenomenon Roberto Soltic is set to make his ONE FC debut in America
Roberto Soltić will make his US debut next week, May 5th, where he will fight Sebastian Gadestum in a fight that will be tough and violent.
MMA fighter Zoltic from Bosnia has fought mainly in Europe and is a former two-division champion of KSW, a major MMA organization in Poland. He was a valuable asset to ONE Championship when he was signed last summer. With his star ability, Zoldyk promises to be a fight-of-the-night contender for next week’s fight on Amazon Prime Video – ONE’s first event in the US.
“It’s a dream come true to fight in the U.S.,” Zoldyk said. “I am doing this for my village and my home.” Nicknamed “RoboCop,” the 28-year-old Soltyk is a decorated combat veteran. All 20 of his wins have come by way of knockout, and he plans to end Kadam’s evening the same way. This is also the goal of Kadestam (14-7). 29 KO wins between the two.
I want a title fight
“People want to see KOs, and I’m ready to give them that,” says Soltyk. “I believe in my punches and kicks and I can’t wait to prove it. This is a tough guy, but I’m ready for battle. I’m going to show the American fans the real ‘Robocop’.”
Zoldyk had a disappointing start at ONE. His fight began last month when Murat Ramazanov accidentally kneed him in the crotch. His last loss was in April 2018 against current UFC star Tricus du Plessis, whom he knocked out in their rematch five months later.
Now comes a fight against Kadestam, a former welterweight champion. It’s a title that Soltyk has in his sights, and a win here would quickly advance his hunt. “For me, for the fans, my first fight in ONE was very disappointing,” says Soltyk. “But I’m here for the fight. I want revenge. I want a title fight. It’s very important to me. That’s what drives me every day in the gym.”
