“The allegations of the past few weeks have deeply shocked us as a band and myself as a human being,” Schneider wrote. He is the first member of the group to comment publicly on the issue.
The drummer doesn’t think “anything illegal” has happened. “But maybe there are things that happened that I personally don’t like.”
Several women have recently reported being drugged at parties surrounding Rammstein concerts. They could also have been recruited to perform sexual activities with the sixty-year-old Lindemann.
Schneider points out that the singer’s concerts are not official parties for the band. “Till has distanced himself from us in recent years and created his own bubble. With his own people, his own projects, his own parties. And it saddens me.” The drummer also says he sympathizes with the alleged victims.
On Wednesday it was announced that a criminal investigation into Lindemann had been conducted in Germany. The metal band themselves hired a law firm last week to investigate the allegations.
