In the Netherlands, no episode disclaimer was shown on Wednesday morning. There is also no disclaimer to be found in the UK, as others have noted The Independent And the Watchman. Netflix was unable to respond to the lack of a warning about the series’ credibility on Wednesday morning.
The service added a disclaimer to the popular series announcement in mid-October. Inspired by true events, this fantasy drama tells the story of Queen Elizabeth II and the political and personal events that shaped her rule. A similar script is now only on the Netflix listing.
The streaming service has been dealt with after a torrent of criticism of the recent episodes. Netflix has already said this many times the crown is a “fantasy play” and she didn’t want to disclaim for a long time. Dame Judi Dench’s criticisms, among others, added an additional caveat. Jodi described the storylines in the new season as “horribly incorrect” and wanted the streaming service to show that the series is fictional “out of respect” for the late Queen Elizabeth.
Earlier, former government leader John Major criticized the programme. Called the new season of the crown “a lot of nonsense.” John criticized, among other things, a scene in which Charles, then still a prince, had a conversation with John in which the Queen’s abdication was discussed.
In the ten new episodes, the 90s are discussed, when Prince Charles and Princess Diana divorced. These roles are played by Dominic West and Elizabeth Debicki. Imelda Staunton can be seen for the first time as Queen Elizabeth and Jonathan Pryce play Prince Philip.
