NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo extended his contract with the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday. According to American media, this relates to a three-year extension, until 2028, for a total amount of approximately 174 million euros.
Antetokounmpo, 28, announced on Instagram that he remains loyal to the Bucks. His club has not yet confirmed the news.
Antetokounmpo was selected 15th overall in the 2013 draft. The Bucks have not yet regretted this choice: the forward was twice voted NBA MVP and led the team to the title in 2021 – the first in fifty years for the Milwaukee team.
Pax is also full of ambition this year, after attracting American Damian Lillard. He should form a duo with “The Greek Freak”. Antetokounmpo had urged him to strengthen his ranks last season after his exit in the first round of the playoffs.
The Bucks failed to qualify for the playoffs in early 2022 and 2023. Antetokounmpo announced last summer after the elimination that the team needed to be strengthened. The Bucks also fired coach Mike Budenholzer, who was in charge in 2021 when they won the title.
