Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul boxing match postponed due to…
“Mike and Jake agree that it is only fair to ensure that both athletes receive equal training time,” Most Valuable Productions said in a statement. “The Baddest Man On The Planet” will return to his full training schedule in the coming weeks.
“I would like to thank my fans around the world for their support and understanding during this time. Unfortunately, due to a flare-up of my ulcer, my doctor has advised me to reduce my training for a few weeks to rest and recover,” Tyson said. “My body is in better overall shape than it has been since the 1990s and I will be back to my full training regimen soon. It may have bought you some time, but ultimately you will still be out of control and a game will be taken away for the good of the boxing world,” he added.
Paul also added his response, saying: “My fans know I don’t want to face Iron Mike at anything but his best, but make no mistake about it, when he steps into the ring with me, I’ll be ready to get the W with a thrilling finish.”
The game was originally scheduled for July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Texas and will be streamed live on Netflix. The new date will be announced on June 7.
