LeBron James is the second basketball player to break 38,000 points in the NBA. The 38-year-old American star of the Los Angeles Lakers did just that in a losing game against the Philadelphia 76ers (112-113). James is on his way to replacing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the NBA’s leading scorer in just a few short weeks.
Abdul-Jabbar, now 75, has scored 38,387 points in the major American competitions. James is now in his 20th season with 38,024 points. The four-time NBA champion played his 1,399th regular season game against the “Sixers,” Abdul-Jabbar came to 1,560 duels. James is already the all-time leading scorer in the playoffs with 7,631 points.
The Lakers star threw a total of 35 points against the Philadelphia 76ers and also had 10 assists. However, it was not enough to prevent the twenty-fourth loss of the season. Joel Embiid scored 35 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
The Los Angeles Lakers have won just 19 games this season and are 13th in the West.
