Joyeeta Gupta has been appointed as one of the ten members of the United Nations Group on Science, Technology and Innovation

As co-chair of the 10-member group, Gupta will advise the UN Inter-Agency Task Force (IATT) on Science, Technology and Innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals. It will contribute to the preparation of the multi-stakeholder forum meetings, develop proposals for the operational aspects of the online platform and support the various workstreams of the inter-agency working group. Gupta's appointment to the 10-member group underscores the UN's continued commitment to harnessing expertise and diversity in the pursuit of a just, inclusive and sustainable world by 2030.

Professor Joyeeta Gupta is excited about her appointment and looks forward to contributing to global efforts to achieve sustainable development: “We will soon bring together the ambitions of all parties and see how we can integrate them into one clear plan. Our work must be as globally representative as possible so that we can communicate it effectively to nation-states.”
