Joost Klein (26 years old) started the second day of Pinkpop on Saturday afternoon at 12 noon. The Frisian singer stood on stage in his signature blue suit and began with his Eurovision hit song “Europapa”. The field, which was crowded, jumped, sang and danced enthusiastically. Jost looked emotional and made the comment at the end: “Why not 2025!”
“Holland, I’m speechless.”
Jost appeared emotional and thanked the audience and his crew for all the support: “Holland, I’m speechless.” “Without these people, the band and the people around me, there would be no Eurovision. So many people have worked so hard, for so many months, everyone!” He then sang a song he said he also wrote for the Eurovision Song Contest, “The Bird’s Song.”
The singer performed for about an hour. He ended his set with an alternative remix of “Europapa” and the lyrics: “Why the hell can’t it be 2025!” It is not clear whether the singer is referring to a new performance in Pinkpop or a possible new participation in the Eurovision Song Contest.
AVROTROS doesn’t respond to Joost’s performance on Pinkpop and his comment “why the hell isn’t it 2025”. An Afghan National Police spokesman said. When asked, Ghost’s management also stated that it had “nothing to report.”
Joost was added to Pinkpop’s lineup at the last minute. This was not the first time the voice of a Eurovision Song Contest participant could be heard in the Landgraf. Joost was also on the festival stage in 2022.
Jost recently released a new single called “Luchtballon”, which he appears to be referencing the Eurovision Song Contest. You can watch the video below.
