But I think it’s for that now. Devices that do not perform well with ZHA will not receive this quality mark either. Zigbee2MQTT has nothing to do with Home Assistant because it is an app that translates Zigbee to MQTT (simply). The HA team doesn’t seem to be doing much development there because it’s not their project.
I think that’s a good way to go with this. I often only see something nice in Action or Lidl, but I’ve never dared to run into it without first making sure that it will work. But if it has such a cable, then there is a much higher chance of making an impulse purchase (because according to the label, it will definitely work with Home Assistant).
The only thing I’m concerned about is that the home assistant now open will be closed (er) in the future and will become more commercial. With the current developments, the opportunity for future acquisitions is of course increasing.
I sincerely hope then that the Home Assistant’s vision will not change as many companies claim to do the same for them. Financially, of course, I would understand if something like this happened, but I hope for the best. I’ve been using it for years now and imho is the only real home automation software out there (in combination with Node Red, it’s even better).
