Russia and China called on the United States and the United Kingdom to stop their attacks on Houthi targets in Yemen. At a UN Security Council meeting, the ambassadors of Russia and China said the attacks were illegal. Moreover, according to countries, this will disrupt international shipping.

For a month, the militaries of the United Kingdom and the United States have been launching regular air strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen. These attacks come in response to Houthi attacks on Western ships in the Red Sea. The strait is very important for international shipping, especially container ships.

Last night, the two countries' ambassadors described the attacks as “proportionate and lawful” and stated that it was not them, but the Houthis, who were disrupting shipping. At the same Security Council session, the responsible Swedish envoy, Hans Grundberg, promised to resolve the conflict in the Red Sea.

Western countries supported the attacks on the Houthis, and the Dutch army participated in at least two attacks. Criticism so far has come mainly from countries in the region, such as Iran and Iraq.
