Glitter and glamor during the state banquet in Oslo
King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway are hosting a glamorous state banquet at the Royal Palace in Oslo on Tuesday evening. Our guests are King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark, who are visiting Norway on an official state visit. EXTRA SPECIAL: The state visit takes place on the 20th wedding anniversary of Frederick and Mary.
For Frederik and Marie, this is their second official banquet as King and Queen of Denmark. The couple made their first appearance last week at a state banquet in Sweden. Tonight is the time for a lot of sparkle and magic. Photos show how the Danish royal couple leaves for the palace in Oslo.

State banquet in Oslo
The first day of a state visit usually ends with a formal banquet. King Frederik and Queen Mary have dinner with members of the Norwegian royal family at the Royal Palace in Oslo. In addition to King Harald and Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit will also attend. As well as Princess Astrid, sister of King Harald.

Queen Mary wears an embellished dress
Queen Mary chooses a light blue evening dress during the state banquet. She previously wore the dress in 2015, at the wedding of Swedish Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia. The Danish Queen has a frugal clothing style and often changes dresses. And in Sweden last week, Marie was able to breathe new life into an “old” prom dress for the fourth time.
