Just after Christmas last year, Frank Dunn was unexpectedly surprised by the news of his morning show hiatus, which he took charge of from Edwin Evers in 2019. He had to make way for Wietze de Jager and Klaas van der Eerden. He then called it a “bolt out of the blue,” but said he’s still in talks with Talpa about his future at Radio 538, where he says his heart was. “When I started radio 22 years ago, 538 was my first big love and today I can vouch that old love never rusts. From the end of August I’m going home again and this time with a great afternoon show. I can’t wait,” he says now. Dane can be heard on Radio 538 for the first time since 2000 and has performed on several shows there.
In May it was announced that the daily newspaper Quinn and Sander Show Moving on Friday. They also indicated that the decision harmed them. However, changes to Radio 538’s programming won’t come out of the blue after disappointing listening numbers. Swijnenberg will also be setting up a lunch program for 538. Lantinga has an afternoon program on Radio Veronica Monday through Thursday.
538 announcer Coco Hermans trusts new programming. “With Wietze & Klaas, Coen and Frank on the daily programming and Coen and Sander as a start to your weekend, we’re giving listeners a very powerful program I’m really looking forward to!”
Frank Dunn commented upon his return Wednesday morning:
