Four things you can do during a science weekend

Four things you can do during a science weekend

DNA search

All cells in your body contain DNA: a unique package that contains information about your body. For example, it determines the color of your eyes or hair. Plants also have DNA. At Utrecht University, you can study this in great detail and become a plant researcher for a day.

Look at the stars

Do you like to gaze at the beautiful starry sky? At the Museum Factory in Enschede, you can watch the stars in its observatory. There is a large telescope through which you can take a sharp look at the most beautiful and distant stars. There are also volunteers available who can tell you all about what you see.

Create a chain reaction

The NEMO Science Museum in Amsterdam is of course organizing a lot of fun activities this weekend. Travel through your brain with brain researchers, build your own mini-chain reaction or look at the sun through the helioscope on NEMO’s surface.

Travel through the Ice Age

At the Brabant Nature Museum in Tilburg you can take a tour through the Ice Age, with an expert and without the risk of slipping or freezing. Or participate in a scientific experiment. For example, how do you turn into a fossil and leave your own mark?
