Fleur Lunsbash and Helen DeHaines will be the new correspondent for NOS in the UK and Italy, respectively. Lonespach was succeeded by Tim de Witt (London) and Dehaines behind Mostafa Margadi in Rome.
“With Fleur and Helen, we once again have two relatively young, but very talented, reporters,” says Marcel Gillove, editor-in-chief of NOS Nieuws. At their locations in London and Rome, according to Gelauff, they can bring together “two quirky European capitals with their own culture, on all NOS platforms.”
The 31-year-old Launspach already supported current NOS reporter Tim de Wit in the UK last year. She has been working in London as a freelance journalist for two years, including for Al Jazeera English and NBC News. For KRO-NCRV . series after applause Launspach produced Documentary about the fire at Grenfell Tower.
She will begin her position as a reporter in July. She is looking to report “from a country that is reinventing itself after Brexit”.
important message
Helen DeHanes (28) started six years ago at NOS. In recent years, as a member of the foreign editorial team, she made items for NOS Journaal, collaborated with reporters on reports and wrote articles for the NOS website. In recent years, she has also made youth documentaries on children’s rights in Eastern Europe and Africa for the EO . series human rights.
She also recently traveled to the United States for the presidential elections and was on Lesvos when the Moria refugee camp burned.
“I noticed there as a journalist how important it is to be where your story is going,” says DeHanes, who will begin work in Rome in August. She is looking forward to a sexy reporter. “The fact that Italy is often viewed critically in Holland, for example the way European money is spent there, makes the correspondence there all the more significant and interesting.”
